How this is calculated
- Historical BTCBitcoin (BTC)The ticker symbol for Bitcoin, used on exchanges and in price quotes.Full definition price data is loaded from
/data/btc.json. The tool simulates buying a fixed dollar amount at each interval (weekly or monthly) starting January of the selected year. - Each purchase converts dollars to BTC at the price on that date. Total BTC accumulated is valued at the most recent price in the dataset.
- Lump-sum comparison assumes the entire DCA total was invested on day one at the starting price.
