Historical, not a forecast. This replays past prices. It does not predict what buying from today would return, and Bitcoin has fallen more than 70% several times.
What this tool assumes
- Buys use the daily Bitcoin close (CoinMetrics, via the site’s data/btc.json snapshot) on the first day of each week or month from January of the start year. If that file cannot load, the tool falls back to quarter-end closes interpolated within each quarter, and says so.
- Holdings are valued at the last saved daily close, and the result line gives its date.
- The lump-sum comparison invests the same total on the first buy date.
- Fees, spreads and taxes are not modeled.
- Past performance does not predict future returns.
