How this is calculated
FIRE number = annual spending × 25 (the inverse of the 4% safe withdrawal rate).
Coast-FIRE number = FIRE number ÷ (1 + return)years to traditional retirement (age 65). This is how much you need today so that compounding alone reaches your FIRE number by 65, with zero additional contributions.
Years to FI is computed iteratively: starting from current portfolio, add annual savings, grow by return, until portfolio ≥ FIRE number. Bear uses 5%, base uses 7%, bull uses 10%.
